Report
In tough cold conditions at Manuka, the Ainslie boys took on Eastlake who were coming of their first loss of the season in what was a must win for the Tri–colours who have been so disappointing in the last month. In their previous meeting the Demons had blown the Tri–colours off the park in the first game and then both teams played out an exciting draw at Ainslie Oval the second time around.
The first quarter saw Eastlake open the scoring and with the benefit of some helpful umpiring decisions opened up a 2 goal lead but the Tri–colours replied through Inkster and A Mathis and the scène was set for another exciting tussle and at the1/4 time break 2 points separated the sides. The second quarter was a see-sawing affair as first Ainslie got away only to see the Demons fight back and then when another controversial umpiring decision saw the ball reversed from Ainslie full back Ghobrial to the Eastlake full forward who kicked a goal to bring them within 2 points at the half time break.
The third quarter saw the Demons come out firing and they kicked 4 goals straight to open up a handy lead. However the Tri–colours had a different attitude to the last few weeks and fought back bravely with 2 late goals to be 17 points down at the last change. In a thrilling last quarter and with Ainslie playing their best TEAM football for the year they kicked 7 goals to 3 to run out 7 point winners in what was a very good game of footy. In a great team performance Inkster was outstanding (7 goals) as well as experienced campaigners McFarlane and Argall who showed the way for their young chargers with their skill, courage and poise in the last quarter.

Report
We prepared well for this game, with the simple goal of sticking to our game plan. Also the players had to set a personal goal of doing one new thing they had never done before in a game, as well as backing themselves and run hard at every opportunity. To the boys credit they did most of the things very well. We were still weak in and around the stoppages (Eastlake scored three easy goals from our lack of pressure) and the front and centres still proved to be an issue.
The scoreboard shows the backline worked well, as we held a team to a normal score and we had our opportunities in the third qtr, but not crumbing well in fwd line cost us a couple of easy goals and we could of been in front at the end of the third qtr. Eastlake got a couple of quick goals at the start of the last qtr and by about the halfway mark a lot of players from both sides looked like they were running on the spot. What was very pleasing about the last qtr was we keep our composure and continued to stick to our game plan and both teams fought it out to the final siren.
Summary
There was a good buzz around the change room at the end of the game with a lot of players actually enjoying themselves during the game and feeling good about the way they had played. This was easily the best we have played as a team all year, but the players must set themselves individual goals to improve again next week.

Report
Ainslie U14 Div2 travelled to Lindwall Oval to take on Marist in Round 7. In what could only be described as a nail-biting match, the entire game was hard fought which is to the credit to the players from both teams. Ainslie peppered the goals in the first quarter but were unable to capitalise on our attacks. In the second quarter, we continued the attacking and achieved greater success with the score board taking a lead into half time. Marist came out strong in the third quarter throwing eveything at the Ainslie players and despite being out-scored by Marist, Marist were not able to take the lead. During the last quarter, each of our players continued to fight hard for the ball and for Ainslie's supporters, the tension did not start to ease until around the 17 minute mark when Ainslie achieved a two goal break. Well done to all players - in what was a gutsy and hard fought match, you never gave up and each of you gave everything you had to get the win on the board.
Goals: Liam Braithwaite - 1, Todd Ford - 1, William Perren-Leveridge - 2.
