Match report

The Ainslie team travel to Tuggeranong for a match against an improving Hawks who were coming off their best win of the season having defeated the Sydney Swans. In perfect weather conditions the Tri –colours jumped out of the box kicking the first goal and it looked as though the boys were up and running but it was very short lived as from then on the hard running Hawks were never headed for the rest of the game. In a tight contest the Tri –colours were always behind and seem to lack the passion and commitment of the Tuggeranong boys. The lack of run through the middle of the ground meant slow movement into the forward line and allowed the hawks to get numbers back and with no marking target it was always going to be a struggle to kick goals.

In what has been a really poor month for the Ainslie Football Club with another narrow loss for the senior team this was the most disappointing as we were beaten by a side that were more committed, braver and made less skill errors when the game was there to be won

Report

Well at the end of the game I was extremely disappointed, because I think after our good second half last week I was expecting a bit more, well in fact I was expecting a lot more.

We went into the game very flat and that was basically how we played, there was no fire in the belly, there was still plenty of commitment and most players put in a solid effort, but mainly as individuals as good old fashioned team work seemed to be the concept we forgot to use on the day.

Summary
We appear to be playing for ourselves and not each other, as our lack of general support (team work) for each other during games is very disappointing.
