Ainslie’s Captain Ian Lawless plays his 100th game for Ainslie in the round 12 NEAFL game this Sunday June 17 against Tuggeranong.
Ian was recruited from Orbost in Gippsland back in 2007. He came to Ainslie as an 18 year old and played in Chris Rourke’s first year as coach. Ian went through the tough years of 2007-08 but stuck with Ainslie and became a two time Premiership player.
He is into his 6th season with Ainslie and was this season given the Captaincy. "Rambo" is a tough, courageous midfielder who gets the hard ball and leads the team by example.
Ian missed the Foxtel Cup in April to be with his partner Naomi for the birth of their first child, a son, Miles.
Congratulations from all at Ainslie to Ian on this great achievement of playing 100 games for the Tricolours.
